The Training Laboratory is nothing fancy nor scientific.
Based in a home garage, it consists of sufficient equipment to provide a challenging workout session with the focus on technique. Using the surroundings to facilitate the use of these equipment, whatever you find in the Training Laboratory may look easy to use and thus you think theymay not give you sore muscles the day after, but in fact they are the best tools to do the job for strength & conditioning and can be deceptively difficult and dangerous without proper technique and supervision.
So the non-traditional equipment you would not get in a commercial gym include:
sufficient poundage of bumper plates
a decent weightlifiting bar and platform
free-standing squat stands
gymnastic rings
kettlebells of various resistance
medicine balls (the bouncy ones) and dead-balls (non-bouncy)
heavy-duty resistance bands to micro-resistance bands
old/used tires
15m-long 30mm-thick manila ropes
boxing gear and skipping ropes
water-resistance implements (i.e. aqua bag and slosh ball)
